In June of 2016 my husband, Dr. Colin Standish was diagnosed with advanced Dementia. As you can imagine this was a devastating diagnosis for our family.
This brilliant mind, during his 84 years of life, has received his PhD in Psychology and masters in Education, has co-authored over 70 books, preached in 100’s of countries, has been president to several universities, and started two schools. He was offered several lucrative jobs during his working years, but chose to follow the burning fire that God placed on his heart—not to live for himself, but to live for others. He spent the last 39 years living off of a small stipend, so that more money could be used in furthering God’s work. Every penny that came from his books were given back to God's work. He was a big advocate in helping young people, who had no means to receive Christian education.
Currently, he has been residing in a nearby rehab facility, and is requiring more care than we can give him. In August, my husband and I will have been married 54 years, and naturally it pains me not to have him at home, but our home is not conducive to his needs. His insurance has covered 100 days of care, but that will end on July 24, 2017. The rehab charges $7,700/month, a figure that I do not have, which is why I am asking for your help!! My goal is to raise money to help pay for his first year, and then possibly arrange for him to come home. We take each day as it comes, and keep re-assessing as we go.
My husband has given his time, knowledge, talent and his life for others, and has never asked for a penny for himself, so please help me to give back and help this great man in his time of need. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. May God richly bless you!
