Dr. Andrea Kretzschmar Memorial Psychiatry Fund

$10,000 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 97 people in 4 months
This fund is in honor of Dr. Andrea Kretzschmar, a beloved psychiatrist, a passionate and compassionate addiction medicine physician, and a devoted medical educator.  Her colleagues in the Brown Alpert Medical School's Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior intend to create a memorial program  that supports the training of future psychiatrists to provide exceptional care to patients with substance use disorders.

Hi, Everyone, I'm pleased to share that the official fund through Brown Medical School's Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior has been created: The Dr. Andrea Kretzschmar Addiction Psychiatry Training Fund.

Below is a picture of the official flyer - it doesn't look like I can upload the PDF here to GoFundMe, but I'd be happy to forward to anyone who would like it.

Here is a link for those of you who may want to give more directly on-line - please also share this information! ( http://brown.edu/go/Andrea).

Thank you very much,
Elizabeth

I also wanted to add - if anyone would like to get a direct notification of your donation from Brown (which would make it tax deductible), you should be able to refund your donation from here in the next few days and instead send a check through the mail to the address I provided.....

Hello - and thank you all so much for your support and your patience! I'm glad to share that we have established the "Dr. Andrea Kretzschmar Addiction Psychiatry Training Fund" through Brown Alpert Medical School. Additional materials will be forthcoming soon, but I wanted to provide an update here. For those of you who don't know me - I am on the Clinical Faculty at Brown Alpert Medical School in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior.

Brown is unable to accept a direct transfer from GoFundMe (despite our best efforts!), so I will be withdrawing the funds in my name and then submitting a check for the full amount ($10,000 - amazing start!) directly to:

Office of Biomedical Advancement
Brown University
ATTN: Bethany Solomon
(re: Dr. Andrea Kretzschmar Addiction Psychiatry Training Fund)
Box 1889
Providence, RI 02912

If anyone else would like to contribute further to this fund, you can do the same with a check OR wait until we have an on-line giving option available through Brown.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly with any questions or suggestions about this.

Again - thank you all for your support - the work we will be able to do to enhance addiction psychiatry training would have meant so much to Dr. Kretzschmar!
