I am not one to ask for help of any kind, particularly financial! My life has changed drastically in the past 18 months since I left my position in education, all for the better, except for my current financial situation.
I ask that you consider making a small contribution to this fund. I promise to make excellent use of your contribution. No amount is too small to be greatly appreciated!
When I first left the University of Florida, I considered I might again work as an instructor in education. I spent last spring through this fall teaching part-time at Central Florida college and the University of Florida, while trying to determine what I really want to do with my life from this point.
Music has always been one of my main passions and for years I feel I neglected music for my work in education. I started going to see as much live music as possible and had the first thought of the idea to put my skills to use for musicians last spring. This idea continued to grow over time and during the past 5 months I have been using my video skills to help local musicians record live performances to help promote their music. Long term, I hope to transition to music videography and promotion as my new career! It is something I greatly enjoy and my technological skills bring something to the table that many musicians need.
Working part-time the last 18 months and numerous large emergency vehicle and life expenses have left me with approximately $11,000 of debt (with few resources to help reduce this amount quickly)! This debt makes it difficult for me to focus on growing my new business.
Currently, I am working 5 part-time jobs on and off. In Ocala, I work as a tutor in the math lab at Central Florida college, at a records storage facility shredding paper, and at a local office doing document scanning and basic cleaning. Recently I also started working online as a tutor for Chegg.com and as an ESL teacher through GoGoKid.
The primary purpose of this fund will be to pay off this debt which will allow me to work less, grow my business, and put my passion to work for many great musicians!
