My Parents Funeral Expenses

We lost a great man on December 13, 2019 my daddy, a loving husband to my mom of 50 years.  They just celebrated their 50th Anniversary last month and my dad’s 74th birthday.  He made it for both of them.  Just not Christmas.  My dad was diagnosed with Lung Cancer on top of having 3 strokes over the last 3 years.  When your a senior citizen living on a fixed income just trying to get by it is hard.  When we were getting arrangements set I found that my parents only have 10,000 in life insurance which doesn’t cover the funeral costs completely.  It is really unfair to me their daughter who sees a couple that has worked hard their entire life to have nothing.  Now with this passing of my dad my mom will now be on one income a month to live on.  The “payout” social security gives is $255?  Really? What do they expect for that to cover?  I am trying to help my mom with anything that I can do for her through starting this with any help that I get.  I appreciate anyone that can.
