Help Matt Get Back On His Feet

Matt Sickinger has been a part of the Panther Creek CC team since the fall of 2013. On March of 2018 Matt started noticing swelling and pain in his legs and feet. While taking time off to allow for some degree of healing his condition worsened. All of a sudden his ability  to walk was diminishing  rapidly and was losing sensation throughout his legs, feet, midsection, hands, and arms. After being admitted to the ER it took two day of extensive testing to reach a diagnosis. The diagnosis was Guillian Barre a rare autoimmune disorder in which the body's immune system which attacks the peripheral nerves throughout the body. Guillian Barre is rare as only 1 in 150,000 people are diagnosed with this condition. There is no cure for Guillian Barre but there are some effective treatments. Matt has elected to try one such treatment known as plasmapheresis. It is a procedure similar to dialysis in which the blood is filtered to remove the proteins that are attacking the nerve cells.

Matt faces an unkown number of weeks in an intensive physical rehabilitation in-patient program. Each day he has several hours of occupational, physical, and recreational therapies. These are designed to promote rapid gains in strength, movement, and coordination so that he can hopefully return home in a timely manner.

Matt has been out of work since the beginning of May 2018. Matt's medical bills and lack of income are weighing heavy on him and his family. Any donations to help Matt get back on his feet and back to work would be greatly appreciated by Matt and his family. Please share and donate!
