Kenny's Medical Funds







Hello everyone. My name is Kenneth Rodriguez. On the evening of October 11, 2017, an unforutnate incident occurred which involved me being struck by a car as a pedestrian. As you may see in the pictures that are provided, my left hand which is also left with severe  road rash and exposed tendons, my left foot,  arm and leg were the parts of my body that were affected the most. As I feel very lucky to be alive, however this has taken a significant toll on my personal life. I am a hairstylist who works about 12 hour days 5-6 days a week and because of this accident I am unable to work. As you may know my job requires  the use of my hands, and since I am unable to do so I am not receiving any income. The insurance that I have does not cover my medical expenses, and because I am unable to work for a couple of months, the lack of income prevents me  from affording the treatment that I need to heal properly. According to the emergency treatment that I have received so far, I was told I had to stay on bed rest, take antibiotics consistently, and clean/change the bandanges on my hands/feet/arm on a daily basis. I was also told that I have to follow up with a hand specialist once a week to make sure that my wounds heal accordingly, because if they do not heal the proper way, I could potentially lose feeling and mobility in my fingers and that would drastically affect my career. My insurance is very limited, so as of now I am still having a very difficult time finding a hand speciailst who will accept my insurance, so Imost likely will Paying out of pocket to insure that I am on the right path to recovery. It has been very difficult for me for the past couple of days not being able to partake in my career and stay on bed rest, but I am fortunate to be alive and to be surrounded by loved ones. As they are doing as much as they can to help me, I would appreciate any kind of help that I can possibly receive in order to heal and get proper treatment.  I thank anyone in advance for the help that they are willing to give.  Thank you so much for taking your time to read my story it means more to me than you know!
