Flood Kerala, India. (My family)

My family and extended families are victims of the flood and we lost our house completely. At the moment my house is under water and my mom and eldest brother's family is at the flood relief camp. Since there is a power failure for the last 5 days, I have only very limited communication with my family and friends. Rain continuous and it’s devastating.
The southern part of India, the state Kerala is facing the worst flood of the decade and thousands of people have lost their home and livelihood. People are facing a very difficult situation to survive. 36 dams are opened due to their excess capacity. People drowning in their own homes and survivors dealing with a lack of food, water, and electricity; there is no adequate system to evacuate them in our country, like in the US. We don't know the aftermath of this flood. Unfortunately, there is no insurance coverage in India for this kind of tragedy.
Heavy rains, overflowing rivers; thrown open dams and a series of landslides have resulted in the death of more than 250 people in the state. The major airport has been shut, transit systems are down, communication networks are knocked out, there are blackouts, and thousands are stranded on the rooftops. It's havoc and a disaster beyond belief. Please keep Kerala, India in your prayers.
My name is Reverend Johny Chengalan Thomas, a Clergy working in New York, the United States. This fundraising is for my immediate family in Kerala, India. The funds will be specifically spent rebuilding of a new home, which was completely destroyed by heavy floods in August 2018. I myself am the beneficiary of this fundraiser and will ultimately deliver the funds to my family.
