Beth's Medical Fund

As most of you know the battle of cancer is one our family knows all too well. Unfortunately we are at it again. This time with my mom Beth. She found a lump in her breast and saw her doctor. After numerous  biopsies and multiple images our worst fears were confirmed this week. Beth was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. Beth was told she would have to have chemotherapy, radiation, and a double mastectomy. Upon meeting with the Oncologist we learned what the costs associated with treatment would be; each co-pay for the doctors visits are $70, each set of imaging she has to have is a $90 co-pay, and just one round of chemotherapy would cost approximately $1000 and she needs to have at least 8 rounds. After the surgery is complete she will need to be off work for a minimum of 8 weeks. As if the diagnosis wasn't bad enough we learned that her insurance wouldn't cover a majority of the treatment. Along with the oncologist and surgeon we are exploring other insurance options. The financial burden is weighing heavily upon her at this time. She expressed that she is unsure how she will manage her expenses once she has to stop working. We are trying to raise as much as we can to help offset these costs. By donating you would be contributing to her peace of mind, she won't be turned away because of her inability to pay, she'll be able to get the prescriptions she needs, and she won't have to worry about the roof over her head, groceries, utilities, and so on.
