Pitch in for an epic mural in Downtown Chilliwack!

The Chilliwack Mural Festival has received permission to paint a mural downtown on an unassuming, but excellent (and big) wall. After hunting extensively we found Montreal based artist "Ankh One " and immediately started planning to try an acquire one of his incredible works. He will transform this ordinary space into a point of interest and beauty to be included in our Mural Tour of Downtown Chilliwack.

To date, we have overseen and fundraised for the installation of eleven large scale murals in our Historic Downtown, and eight smaller scale paintings over boarded up windows. Each of these additions of public art have elevated the Downtown and created points of interest and conversation.

These funds will go directly towards:

1) Paying the artist' commission.

2) Purchasing paint and supplies for the artist.

3) Purchasing a commemorative plaque honouring all of the donors as a group (donations over $250 will be recognized with their name)

4) Purchasing local items for a welcome basket for our artist.

5) Applying a layer of anti-graffiti coating to the mural when it's completed.

Our Admin Team takes $0.00 for what we do. We believe in the POWER of public art and its ability to TRANSFORM public spaces. Let's make our Downtown better, together!

Here are some examples of this artist's work. He works primarily in spray paint, and is one of Canada's premier muralists. We've scored some availability with him, as he'll be in Nelson painting for their International Mural Festival. It's a rare opportunity to bring an artist of this calibre to our city! His technical excellence with spray paint is outstanding, and we can't wait to have him lay down his art!

Let's do this Chilliwack! If 200 of us donate $20 each, we'll have this thing paid for in short order! Donations of $250+ will have their name/logo included on a permanent plaque on the wall. This mural will truly BELONG TO US ALL! This is our Downtown - let's elevate it and create something extraordinary together!
