DOWNSIZED: Looking for Work, Cannot Pay Rent

Donation protected
I lost my full-time income without warning, just before Christmas, due to downsizing. I have been applying for jobs for over 4 months, but nothing has come through for me yet. I even accepted an offer of work from a former client, but the client never started the project.

As an independent contractor, I am not eligible for unemployment benefits. I have had to borrow over $4,000 to pay my bills, but that money has run out and I cannot borrow any more. I am closing in on a new job, but my May rent is due right now and I cannot pay it.

I am already 1.5 months behind on my rent. I need to keep up with my current rent in order to avoid eviction proceedings. My landlord is extremely understanding and may let me pay my back rent in monthly installments, but I must not get any further behind on the rent I owe.

I need to raise $2,000 right away to cover this month’s living expenses. That will let me finish my job search. Once I am working again, I will be able to keep up with my bills and pay off my debts.

Can you help me bridge this gap? No donation is too small. If you cannot donate, please share my GoFundMe campaign with others. I just want to get back to work and start living again.

Thank you so very much,

P.S. I was laid off in December and told there might be some work for me in the new year; however, the client never offered me any more work. The layoff became permanent in April.
