Somos os Downhill Brothers
Olá, somos Nui Tai (9 anos) e Ayun (12 anos) e vivemos na Serra do Espinhaço de Cão no Algarve.
A nossa maior paixão na vida é fazer descidas nas nossas bicicletas de montanha e o “Downhill” tornou-se no desporto ao qual dedicamos toda a nossa intenção e tempo livre.
Quando não nos vêem a andar de bicicleta é porque estamos a cavar trilhos, saltos e curvas para transformar a paisagem circundante à nossa casa em pistas de downhill emocionantes.
Se fosse possível andávamos todos os dias, todo o dia, e viajaríamos pelos melhores bike parks do mundo para treinar e competir.
Como a competição em Portugal está restrita até termos 15 anos sentimo-nos um pouco presos à espera deste momento. Foi então que soubemos de umas competições na Europa, a Specialized Rookies Cup, onde se juntam os melhores jovens pilotos do mundo para uma taça de 6 corridas. Isto tornou-se no nosso sonho e estamos a trabalhar no duro para poder ir à competição de Agosto na Áustria com o Miguel, o nosso pai, e o Pirata, o nosso treinador.
Imaginar-nos naquele bike park espectacular a partilhar aquela experiência com tantos jovens talentosos é mesmo excitante!
Lançámos esta campanha para que vocês nos possam ajudar a chegar lá e nos dêem a oportunidade de correr com os melhores jovens pilotos e subir mais um degrau na escada dos nossos sonhos. Obrigado!
A viagem a Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Áustria
A Áustria não é assim tão perto para nós, são mais de 5000km ida e volta. Planeamos ir de carrinha porque levamos 4 bicicletas, equipamentos, ferramentas, peças suplentes, pneus, equipamento de campismo, etc. O dinheiro que angariar-mos aqui será usado para despesas de viagem, alojamento, inscrições na competição, passes para andar no bike park, peças e todas as coisas que o Miguel e o Pirata estão a tratar.
Esta prova vai acontecer na Áustria a 2 e 3 de Agosto por isso temos alguns meses para juntar o que necessitamos. É a 5a de 6 corridas da taça e funciona como um campeonato mundial de esperanças, com uma grande visibilidade na cena do downhill para jovens pilotos.
Além do facto de esta ser para nós a primeira grande oportunidade de nos testarmos a andar com os melhores miúdos, andar pela primeira vez num bike park assim é super motivador para nós.

We're Nui and Ayun, and we need your help to reach our dream - go to the downhill world championship!
We Are The Downhill Brothers
Hi, Nui Tai (9) and Ayun (12) here, two brothers who live in the coastal mountains of southwest Portugal.
Our greatest passion in life is to ride our mountain bikes downhill. This became the sport we dedicate all our intention and free time to.
When you don’t see us riding we’re digging trails, jumps and berms to shape the surroundings of where we live into more exciting downhill tracks.
If possible we’d ride everyday, all day, and would travel to the best bike parks in the world to train and compete.
As competition in Portugal is restricted until we’re 15, we feel kind of stuck waiting for it. That was until we found out about these competitions going on in Europe, the Specialized Rookies Cup, where the best young riders of the world get together for a cup of 6 races. So, this became the dream, and now we're working hard on getting to the competition in August in Austria with our father Miguel and our trainer Pirata.
Imagining ourselves in that great bike park sharing the experience with all those skilled kids is just so exciting! We put up this campaign so that you can help us get there and give us the opportunity to ride with the best young pilots and climb one more step on the ladder to our dreams. Thank you!
The Trip to Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Austria.
Austria isn’t just around the corner for us, it’s over 5000km round trip. We plan on going by van as we’re taking four bikes, equipments, tools, spare parts, tires, camping gear, etc. The money we collect here will go for expenses on the road, accommodation, inscriptions for the competition, passes into the bike park, spare parts, and all the other stuff dad and Pirata are taking care of.
This competition will take place in Austria in August 2nd and 3rd so we have a few months to raise our funding. It’s the 5th of the 6 races cup, works as a sort of rookies world championship and has a great visibility within the downhill scene for young riders.
Besides the fact that for us it is the first great opportunity to ride together with the best kids, and put ourselves to test, riding for the first time in a bike park like that is in itself super exciting for us!

Because we’d like to share our happiness about going on this trip, we will have a goodbye party where you are invited to come ride on our home track and enjoy a great day at the beautiful countryside where we live.
