Cancer is just a chapter in my life, not the final story!

Dear family and friends,

This is a something I didn't think I would ever have to write but here goes. The last few years have been truly rubbish for me for so many reasons and just when I thought I had had my life’s fill of seriously bad luck, it just got significantly worse. In December I was diagnosed with breast cancer which I hadn’t detected early enough, unfortunately and have just undergone a mastectomy in which a large 11 cm tumour was removed. This week I have been told that it has spread to my lymphatic system so I am having another operation in a few days to remove more of my underarm. I will then start a course of chemo and/or radiotherapy dependent on the extent on how much the cancer has spread and I can only pray that it hasn’t spread even further.

You can have a billion problems in the world but when you receive a life-threatening diagnosis, it certainly helps you to focus the mind. I have tried not to dwell on the crippling fear that could consume me but instead comcemtrate on what the future could hold by turning everything I have been through and the ongoing health battle into something positive, which I am now more than ever determined to do. As superman said ‘Once you choose hope, anything’s possible’ so I am sticking with that mantra for now.

Ever since my daughter Amalie was born, my goal was always to create a business that would give her a comfortable home, a happy future and security. In 2014 I launched my own brand of cosmetics but I made a fatal error when choosing business partners and I learnt very quickly that when morality comes up against greed, sadly greed always wins. Everything I had worked for my entire life was taken including my business, my career, my security and in August they forced me to sell my home. It has been the hardest time in my life and has left Amalie and me homeless forcing us to start again from scratch.

The stress of going through such betrayal and loosing our home is the reason I am now fighting a cancer battle but I am determined I will beat it and I will not let what they did to me be my final chapter.

Someone wise once told me that just as despair can come to you from other human beings, hope, too, can be given to you by one human being. Amalie has been my hope throughout the last few years so with her by my side, we are going to start again.

Over the last two months, Amalie and I have designed and created a curated collection of wardrobe essentials that is much more than just fashion. Each item we have created embodies resilience, longevity, and endurance and at its core of the line is a celebration of hope, love, and the unbreakable bond between a mother and daughter.

Our collection, Raresoul, is born from our shared passion for clothing and accessories, inspired by our love for boho-chic, a hint of cowgirl cool, and the pursuit of timeless, comfortable classics that will remain effortlessly stylish through the years. Each piece is crafted to last, transcending generations and trends and becoming a wardrobe staple for years to come.

The latest health battle is another of life’s curve balls that I must overcome but I am going to use it to drive myself a little harder and it will just make me dig a little deeper to make Raresoul a huge success.

Unfortunately, raising the financial backing has hit a set back due to my health battle which is why I am reaching out to family and friends for their support. If anyone can help us to bring Raresoul to life, we would be eternally grateful. Every little bit will mean the world to us.

It is also important that we give back and support those who are working hard to save the lives of millions of people and mine. Therefore 10% of the profit of sales from Raresoul will be donated to Breast cancer care, Macmillan and the Parapet, Windsor – as I wouldn’t be here today without them.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We have attached some pictures to give you an idea of the look and feel of the line and a glimpse of the items we have designed along with an idea of what the website will look like once launched. Your support means more than we can put into words and if you can pass it on to as many people as you can, we would be extremely grateful.

Additionally we will also be looking for investors so if any one would be interested in being part of the journey please get in touch… it is going to be a seriously fun ride :)

Love from
