<div>We are volunteers at Dover Pantry. On the weekend of the 6th/7th September we plan to walk the 18 miles from Dover to Canterbury via the Pilgrim route the "Via Francigena " (in reverse) in order to raise much needed funds for our Social Supermarket, which aims to combat food poverty and reduce food waste.

<div><strong>What is the Dover Pantry?</strong>
</div>
<div>The primary purpose of Dover Pantry is to reduce food poverty in the CT16 and CT17 areas by providing a Social Supermarket in an accessible location. Those struggling to make ends meet can be accepted as members and for a small weekly fee can supplement their regular weekly shop with a variety of fresh and frozen meats and fish, vegetables and store cupboard essentials. Surplus perfectly good food that would otherwise go to landfill is collected from local supermarkets by a team of volunteers. This is supplemented by buying in goods to offer variety and choice.
