Birth has always been at the heart of my work, yet safe, supported birth is not guaranteed everywhere. As a doula and childbirth educator serving Black and Brown families, I’ve seen how access to care can mean the difference between fear and confidence, isolation and support, survival and loss.

I am volunteering in the Maasai Village in Kenya, where many young mothers give birth with limited resources and significant barriers to care. In this community, distance from hospitals, lack of supplies, and minimal birth support make pregnancy and childbirth especially challenging, making skilled, compassionate birth support not just helpful, but imperative.

I’m doing this work because where someone gives birth should never determine whether they live. This mission is about showing up with respect and skill, supporting mothers, collaborating with local midwives, and strengthening care where it is needed most. Every donation allows me to offer this support without financial burden to the families I’ll be serving.
