Doug's Heart Transplant

After battling Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in 2003 and beating the odds for complete remission, Doug has now been diagnosed with chemo-induced heart failure and he requires a heart transplant. Doug's doctors are in Dallas,TX which is 400 miles from his home. Although he has medicare coverage and supplemental insurance to cover most medical expenses, he still has to make frequent trips to Dallas. After transplant surgery he will have to remain in the Dallas area for an undetermined amount of time. Doug and his family are strugglling financially due to the travel expenses.
