Doug's Medical Fund

Hello friends and family!

Firstly, thank you for checking out this link! We have been told that people are interested in helping our family so our pastor Bryan Meyers suggested we start a Go Fund Me page. This September, my dad, Doug Haselton, was diagnosed with a Grade 4 brain tumor, called a glioblastoma. This type is the most aggressive and most lethal. This news has been life changing for all of us. Doug will be starting chemotherapy and radiation treatments October 18th. The chemo will continue for at least the next 6-12 months. Our doctors will continue to monitor his tumor growth (hopefully lack thereof) with MRIs during this time. The doctors have told us that there is no cure for this type of cancer, but this treatment is proven to improve life expectancy for glioblastoma patients. Although the prognosis seems dire when using standard treatment alone, we have read about people taking their own approach to treatment who are still living 20 years later. We have decided to take this approach as well and are hopeful that it will work for Dad too. We love my dad and want him around for as long as God lets us have him (hopefully many, many more years). All funds donated will go to expenses toward his cancer treatment and any amount helps especially since my dad is unable to work during this time and my mom has been taking work off to care for him. We think this number will cover medical expenses (treatments, MRIs, doctors visits to San Francisco, etc.) for the next 2 years. Even during this difficult time we trust God is sovereign and trust that he is GOOD. We believe God hears our prayers so please continue praying for healing, comfort, and peace for us all. Thank you for all of the love and support that has already been shown. We love you all!!!
