It has now been almost 5 months and we are not even close enough to be able to walk in our house . If anyone knows FEMA, they know they don’t help you. We knew we were not in a flood zone when we bought our house. But water is unpredictable and unfortunately we were flooded. We still need material ,electric and HVAC . We just want to get in the house , we don’t care at this point if all the rooms are done.This has been very stressful and playing a toll on my health. So our 2019 wish is to be in our home. We need help to do this.

They have just moved to Conway,South Carolina 7 months ago from New Jersey to help Sissy feel better .
Then they encountered the worse nightmare their home was in the path of the flood water form Hurricane Florence.
They have no flood insurance because they were in the flood zone.
Today Doug and Sissy
met with Fema. They said they have to file for a SBL Small business loan.
Ok they are not a business,but they still had too.
Before Fema will even help them .
So they did and we're DENIED.
Because being on Disability does not pay them enough to pay the loan back.
Now hopefully FEMA will help.
24 days after the flood and still no relief In site.
Unfortuanly Sissy is unable to do anything because she is in so much pain.
But FEMA said that they will only help with one bedroom,one bathroom,living room and kitchen.Because there is only two people in the house.
They bought a 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom house.
They don't care about the other rooms, they just want a place to live again.
They also have to go in when the water goes down and rip up the floor and walls. To help dry out the house, to prevent more mold from growing.
They don't many people down their that is not in the same situation to help.
Please if you can help in any way the smallest donation will help . A dollar will add up to get them sheet rock or plywood
