a pop-up dining series
...aims to raise start-up funding to get the ideas from paper to your plate.
Any and all funding received will go to research and development, acquiring spaces and licences, ingredients and some nessesary equipment.
(Please be assured that all donations go directly to the source and will be supplemented with personal finances. In addition, all profits from the first event will be immediately put back into the funding of future events.)
Chef Jarrott Moonitz ( that's me) will team up with local purveyors of fine foods and makers of fine bourbon as well as some truly excellent guest bartenders in intimate and sometimes unusual spaces to provide prix fixe dinners paired with drinks to 10-20 guests on a bi-monthly basis. This pop-up series aims to explore the possibilities of blending local ingredients with those from the heart of the southern states to create something delicious, sometimes modern and always comforting. The goal is to take this pop-up series to brick and mortar when the time is right.
On a personal note. ..this is the culmination of over 15 years of cooking and learning. It is an opportunity to expand my reach and create my brand. I am humbled by all those who believe in me and are willing to help make Oak & Char a reality.
As well as monetary contributions, any donations of professional kitchen/restaurant space, locally farmed ingredients, artisan food and drink products, your professional experience/a helping hand, etc etc etc will always be appreciated and showcased.
