Sonja’s Double Organ Transplant

My sister, Sonja, a single mother living on disability, was born with Tricuspid Atresia (a congenital heart defect).  She has had 5 open heart surgeries since birth, with her last one being 13 years ago, among other numerous procedures and surgeries including breast cancer.  She has been in congestive heart failure for several years, but it has gotten progressively worse.  She now requires a double transplant because her heart has also damaged  the liver.

She is getting ready to be admitted to a hospital in St. Louis, MO, where she will be staying until she receives a heart and liver transplant.  We have no idea how long she will be in the hospital waiting before she receives her transplants.  Unfortunately, even if she were to have the transplants she so desperately needs, the expenses will not stop there.  She will then have several ongoing visits to St. Louis (which is 5 hours round trip) for heart biopsies and checkups for the first year after the transplants.

I am trying hard to raise funds to help cover the hefty medical expenses associated with a double transplant, including travel and lodging.  Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you so much for your support and God bless.
