Do you DoStuff?
We do too! Well, up until recently. In fact, we’ve made careers of it for what is now over a decade’s worth of time. Our mission is simple. We help people do awesome stuff - and we help them do it a lot - DoStuff aims to be a reliable home to help you have great experiences with the people you love. We show you everything happening in town, all the while simultaneously supporting the bands, venues, bars, restaurants, galleries, and experiences that make our cities the best places to call home. We turn to our community in this time of need to help us continue to do what we do best - connecting our community to the scenes they love and care about while they are staying safe at home.
Where It All Started:
Back in the day, our idea was simple. We were having beers one night and asked ourselves “what’s going on in our town tonight?” Amazingly enough, that question turned into a 20 city media company spread across the US & Canada.
But that didn’t happen overnight. We now employ 30+ people and pay their salaries primarily from ad revenue, live events, and encouraging people to explore their towns. We cannot responsibly do that right now and as such, are feeling the strain as we look forward into the next few months.
Our staff is our lifeblood. They are not only our employees, they are accomplished musicians, local entrepreneurs, philanthropists, artists, kickass coders, and all-around badasses. They made a choice to choose work they were passionate about - and have never failed to raise the bar on finding solutions to hard problems, especially during these hard times. While figuring out where to take your date over the weekend may have been the problem of the past, we recently launched “DoStuff At Home” which is helping to solve the problem of how we can all stay connected and entertained during these unprecedented, all-encompassing times.
We know there are a lot of folks struggling, and we’d be lying if we said we aren’t too. Because this company was built on the idea of helping people go out and see the world, we are trying our damndest to keep the staff that has devoted years of their lives to our cause as we move forward into an unknown future. Whether it be $5 or $200, every dollar counts as we look to ways to continue our mission of connecting our community with resources to stay safe during COVID-19, ways to support their community that they love, and experiences that lighten the mood a bit during these difficult times.

100% of the funds raised in this GoFundMe will go to the DoStuff team.
With it we will:
-Cover their salaries
-Continue to provide health insurance
-Prevent any possible layoffs where we can
-Continue to build “Stay at home” initiatives for the public including ways they can engage with their local scenes digitally, as well as ways they can help other local causes
We have built our network of cities and our community of kickass users over years but it has not been without hard times. We have never, and frankly never planned to, ask those same communities to keep us floating so we’re here when this is all over. But we are now.
Every donor who is able to contribute $50 will be emblazoned on a DoStuff “mural” we create on our network of websites to honor the good deeds that contribute to our survival and the continued mission and goal to help people do awesome stuff.
We are in this together now more than ever. We are immensely grateful for your continued support over the past 10 years.
