Doris Dixon Memorial Scholarship Fund

On October 29th, the Cove/Hatton community lost a shining star. Mrs. Doris Dixon was a lifelong resident of the Hatton community and worked at Van Cove High School and then Cossatot River High School. She was an educator and did many jobs at these schools for 30 years.


As the community reflects on the beautiful life she lived and the countless lives she touched, we would like to honor Mrs. Dixon’s memory by establishing The Doris Dixon Memorial Scholarship at Cossatot River High School in Cove, AR.


Mrs. Dixon’s love for teaching and most importantly her love for her students will not be forgotten. Mrs. Dixon’s impact will be felt by her students for a lifetime and beyond for her gentle nature, caring heart, tough love, and the remarkable difference she made in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.


Anyone who knew Mrs. Dixon, knew that she loved her job and her school. She made it her mission to help underprivileged and troubled children that others may have given up on. The Dixon family wants to continue her legacy by continuing to help the kids she focused on.


All of the funds from this Memorial Scholarship will be distributed to college or trade school bound high school seniors who attend Cossatot River High School. This fund will continue to help the students she cared so much about. We will accept applications from CRHS seniors each year and the family will select the recipient. Funds will be distributed directly to the educational institution for the selected applicant each year.
