Dorian's Brain Cancer Surgery Fund

Donation protected
When terrible news hits close to home, friends and family all gather together to lend a hand and support each other. Now is the time the Martin family needs our support the most.

They received the news that no one wants to ever get on May 5 when Dorian was admitted to the hospital due to having a seizure, which he has no prior history of having. That evening the family was given the news that Dorian had a tumor located in his left frontal lobe.  Dorian had surgery the Monday after to remove the tumor.  The  biopsy showed it was a glioma tumor, grade 2, with traces of grade 3. However, he just received notice that they did not get out all of the tumor and he will need a second brain surgery in July.   He will also need radiation and chemo after the second surgery.  They also hope to go to Duke for some new innovative treatments that they don't think insurance will cover.

On top of all of these life changing events, he fractured his back during the seizure and hurt his shoulder. He may need to have surgery on his back by putting cement in his vertebrae to seal the fracture. He is also having back pain due to blood clots forming in his lungs (pulmonary embolism). He is very lucky they found these as this could be a fatal situation. He now has to have 2 shots a day to help thin his blood to remove the clots. These medications may not be fully covered by insurance and can cost up to $3,000 a month without insurance.

All of this has been a whirlwind for the past month. No one could ever have predicted that something so small could forever change the Martin's lives.

We appreciate your love, friendship, strength, and support as the Martin's face the challenges ahead. Please help us help Dorian fight his battle against cancer...no donation is too small.  The family is going to need all the help they can get with medical expenses, loss of income as well as Dorian's long road of recovery.  Any donation will be helpful and greatly appreciated.

The Martin's have really appreciated all the love and support they have already received from their friends, family, church and coworkers at this time. We know not all will be able to donate and that’s fine. We are also accepting prayers, good thoughts, and all positive vibes sent their way.
