Doreen's Duel with Cancer

Donation protected
Doreen was born and raised in the small town of Randolph, Wisconsin. She got married and raised 5 amazing kids. When she wasn't at home with the kids, she was working to help support the family. In the last couple years, times have been a little rough. Her husband and her decided to go their separate ways. She is now living with their 17 year old daughter and is working to support the two of them.            This last year she noticed something wrong with her tongue. She went to get it looked at, they found that she had cancer in her tongue. They decided they would try to surgically remove it. While waiting for surgery her tongue and lymph  nodes swelled up. The swelling caused unbearable pain in her ear. They sent her in to surgery and removed the cancer. The biopsy looked good and they thought they had gotten all of it.               While she was recovering from surgery the swelling  from the surgery didn't seem to go down. A couple weeks went by and she went back to work. As she continued to live her daily life,  the swelling continued. As the swelling got worse, the pressure on her ear got worse. Then on new years eve the swelling got so bad that it hurt to swallow. She called her sister to come pick her up because she had no transportation and was worried about having to pay for an ambulance. She went in to the ER, scared. They did a CT scan, gave her some medication, and made an appointment for her doctor for that Thursday. New years day came, she spent the day with family to celebrate Christmas. She had a hard time swallowing still, so she was limited to a liquid diet. The family left for the day and her and her daughter were relaxing when it got worse.             Her daughter called her brother in a panic. Doreen was having a hard time swallowing and it was getting worse. Her son came and picked them up and they rushed to the ER. When they got there it started to hurt to breathe in. Being familiar with her case and knowing her doctor was in Madison, they transported her to the UW. She hesitated to take an ambulance because of the high cost. The doctor talked her into the transport to the UW.              When they arrived at the UW, the pressure from her throat was causing unbelievable pain in her ear. They gave her some pain meds to try to make her more comfortable. They then put a scope down her nose and made sure throat was ok. They then looked at the CT and saw that her lymph nodes  and tongue had masses on them. They couldn't confirm what it was. She then stayed in the hospital till her appointment at 11 on Thursday the 2nd. At the appointment they confirmed that it was Vascular Cancer. It is growing and spreading fast. She will need to get radiation and chemotherapy as soon as possible.         In order to get radiation and chemotherapy, she will be out of work until March. That means she will have no income. Her insurance isn't the best, so who knows what it may cover. Times are getting tough but so is Doreen. She is in this fight, but she isn't alone. She needs your help though to duel the cancer and beat it.           All donations will go towards medical bills and to help with the lack of income while Doreen is getting her treatments. Even if you can't make a donation, thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
