Don't lose your smile Jo-Ann!

Jo-Ann moved to Philadelphia from Naples, Florida last year in order to follow her dream. Accepted into The University of Pennsylvania’s LPS program, Jo-Ann is on the path to a degree in Medical Anthropology, and she refuses to let anything stand in her way, even Leukemia. Having good health for all of her life, Jo-Ann was shocked by the diagnosis she received just months ago. As a licensed massage therapist, Jo-Ann has spent years healing and improving the quality of life for others. Now, Jo-Ann is fighting for her health and for her future.
Known for her bright blue eyes and contagious smile, she is amazingly maintaining a positive attitude, but with the physical limitations that result from this disease and from the treatments required, she is unable to work. Those of us who know her well cannot let Jo-Ann lose her smile.  The bills are accumulating and she is beginning to feel the pressure.  Help us help Jo-Ann.  With her family in Florida, friends and her local community want to help take this burden off her shoulders so that she can remain focused on getting well.  Her doctors continue to be amazed by her progress and her attitude, as she already talks about using her skills to help others at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania once she is well.  Let us make Jo-Ann’s dream of getting well, obtaining her degree and giving back a reality.
