Dont Go Gently is a small registered Australian charity, run by volunteers, and has been helping in village schools in the Rasuwa district since 2012. It has also operated a medical clinic in the village of Thulo Syabru since 2014. 100% of any monies or donations Dont Go Gently has received has gone into services in Nepal.

Dont Go Gently was there straight after the earthquake of April 2015, keeping the clinic supplied as well as having temporary school classrooms erected, then eventually assisting some of the poorer families build new homes. They also provided significant funding towards the reconstruction of the monastery in Thulo Syabru.

Everyone has seen footage of the devastation caused by the flooding coming down following the glacier collapse in Tibet (China) and decimating the Rasuwa district, among other towns and villages further downstream. Large NGO's, the Nepali army and government services are already operating to clean up and re-establish infrastructure, but the effects of this flooding will be felt long into the future. Most families and individuals will receive no compensation for rebuilding. Many have lost family members or support people.

Dont Go Gently cannot solve very many of the problems, but with the destruction of the health post in Syabrubensi, and the deaths of the staff there, the clinic that we operate, just 600 vertical metres above Syabrubensi, has become more critical to servicing the Langtang area of Rasuwa.

Dont Go Gently needs your financial help to increase the services we can offer, right now and into the future. Any donations received will go primarily to health care for the villagers, with any surplus being used to assist the poorest or most disadvantaged families to rebuild and regain their dignity.
