Don's Puppy Love

For those of you who know my dad, we know he's got nine lives and has always gotten up again after a hard fall; but this most recent trip to the hospital has been the most unstable and traumatic we have had to go through. He was brought to the hospital unconscious on June 15th where doctors found he had staph infection in his blood which also attached itself to the heart valve he had replaced in 2014.  Unfortunately, the antibiotics were not able to kill the infection on the heart valve and on June 30th dad went through another heart valve replacement surgery.  This last week after the surgery we wait every day on lab results hoping for return of organ recovery as his body was weakened by the operation and is still fighting the staph infection in his blood.  

Myself, and other family and friends have had to travel out to Denton, Tx in order to support my dad's recovery. Our family has been surrounded by love and prayers for my fathers healing and strength during this difficult time. I have even received some additional financial support for my accomodation and meals from close family friends as I am staying away from home and unable to take on more work at the moment under the circumstances.  It's been beautiful watching people gather (even if it's online!) with love  at such a time of uncertainty.  

I have put out this fund for people who are unable to be here but still want to help their brother Don in a tangible way.  My dad was just in the middle of moving homes right before he went into the hospital and I am needing support managing the  care of his beloved Puppy who accompanied him for the last four years (video and photos included here! https://www.facebook.com/don.scrivner/videos/10209138145231292/) as well as finding storage for his posessions during his healing period (which if he comes out of his post-operation successfully will still have to be on an anti-biotic drip at a rehabilitation center for 6 weeks minimum).  The funds raised here will go directly to paying for dog sitting care for puppy and a storage unit here in Denton.
