Help donor-conceived people get to the U.N. Geneva

In November it is the 30th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

We are raising money to support several people born as a result of the use of donor-conception and/or surrogacy to travel to Geneva where they will present their lived experiences at a conference event that marks the occasion (18-20 November).  (https://childrightshub.org/en/conference-en/)

This is a great opportunity for donor-conceived people (DCP) to have their rights considered, and for them to be heard by people from the United Nations and civil society.  Unfortunately, they must self-fund their travels and accommodation in order to do this, and everyone is travelling in their personal capacity.

As such, funds raised will be be directed to help reimburse some of the accommodation costs for people travelling to the event.

NOTE

Initially funds raised will be directed toward a group accommodation, which was organised for the first 4-5 confirmed DCP attending. This will ensure that the contribution to costs is meaningful. Our target for this is $3000.

Then, if we raise more money ($3000-$10,000), we would like to be able to support more DCP attendees (there are now 19 in total).  Noting that if we add in everyone paying for their own flights with people travelling from Australia, United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands, and more we would need to raise more than $30,000 to reimburse all costs.

We thank you kindly for your donation!
