Donnie Voip

Our dear friend Donnie has recently started his first stages of chemo therapy treatment for a recent diagnosis of advanced colon cancer.  

This has come as quite a shock to all of us who are privileged enough to know him. Donnie is beloved by many, a good friend to a wide circle of people, and a family man in the prime of life with a new son who and a lovely young family.  He is a kind and generous soul who never hesitates to help care for family and friends, both at home ashore and away at sea on the many tugs and barges he has worked during his long career as a professional mariner.
There are many of us who feel very fortunate to have been able to work with him on the water. Donnie's work ethic and professionalism is well known throughout the industry, and his sense of humor and good nature have always greatly improved the quality of life of what ever boat he was working on .

The treatments will be a long process, intensive and  involved to the point where Donnie will need to be home and out of work for a long time.  He will be well cared for by his loving partner Shawna and his family and friends, but it is my hope that we can come together as a community and contribute financially to help alleviate some of the substantial pressure that will be put upon them during this process so he and his family can focus on one and other and his cure and recovery.
