Her Story
It started with calve pain my mom attributed to working out too strenuously, though when she also felt short of breath for a few days she became concerned and went to the ER. She was told she had a blood clot in her leg that had broken off into her lungs, and that usually indicates something else going on in the body.
After bloodwork, scans, ultrasounds, and xrays, an abnormal spot was found on her liver which ultimately led them to find Stage IV terminal and inoperable pancreatic cancer. Our minds were shocked, our hearts devastated. She was given 3-9 months to live, never having had a single symptom.
From that moment my mom started her uphill battle with everything she had and we followed alongside her every step of the way praying for a miracle. She immediately agreed to the most aggressive chemo treatments, 20 meds/vitamin supplements daily, and in true Donna form, committed to the most positive and beautifully strong mindset. Suffering every side effect imaginable and enduring multiple hospital stays, she has never wavered.
My mom has beat her "at best" prognosis by 6 months and continues to fight every day. We have made every single minute with her count. However, this horrible disease is taking her and she is near her end-of-life. The decision to ask for help has weighed heavily on us, but funds have been exhausted and our hope is to not have her husband left with a trail of medical debt on top of his grief.  This is where your support via donations can help....
