Donna McCarty's Medical Fund

Donation protected
For those of you who know Donna McCarty, you know that she has fought against medical problems for a long time now, including Lupus and open heart surgery. Earlier this year, when it was discovered that she needed her mitral valve replaced, the doctors did not think she would survive open heart surgery again. She was referred to Emory Hospital where she underwent a multitude of tests. They felt like the new Lampoon procedure to replace her valve was the best option.  In July of this year, what should have been a 2 1/2 hour procedure turned in to be 8 1/2 hours. And what should have been a 2 day hospital stay turned out to be 18 days. Most of you already know, she had multiple complications. They sent her home to try to recover because they did not want her to be in the hospital where she could catch other illnesses that were around her.  She had a few days where it looked like she might have been improving a little, but on August 12, she had a heart attack and had SVT, so she had to be airlifted to Baptist South in Montgomery. Three days after she came home from that hospital stay, she was sent to EAMC, and after consulting with Emory hospital, she was headed back to Emory via ambulance-  where she has now been for the last 9 days. Donna was Septic. Her cultures at Emory came back positive for Staph and C Diff.  The TEE also showed infection on her new valve.  Now, she has nodules (positive for MRSA) coming up in multiple places and the doctors are saying that she may not be coming home for a while. Needless to say, Kevin is not leaving her side. He is sleeping in the hospital, as hotels are too expensive. As you can imagine, the expenses are adding up, with food costs, costs for boarding their dogs, etc. There are also hospital, ambulance and life flight bills. Any help that you could give would be greatly appreciated. Donna has faced one hurdle after another, but her faith in God has only strengthened. She is a fighter. I would just like to be able to take at least the stress of the financial issues out of the equation for them. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for her and the family.  And thank you in advance to anyone who can help financially, no matter how small the donation may be.
