In 2006 my wife, Esther Rowe, underwent treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in the Denis Burkitt ward of St. James Hospital.  ALL is an aggresive form of Leukemia and can develop very quickly.  The staff of Burkitts ward saved her life and without the treatment she would not have lived to see her four grandchildren be born, which was her dream.  Sadly she passed away in January 2016, but we got to spend another 10 years with her thanks to her treatment.

Treatment for this disease is very expensive so every penny donated could help more people live to see their dreams come true.

Cycling is a passion of mine and I want to use this passion to help raise funds for the Denis Burkitt Ward in St. James Hospital in her memory. I am hoping to complete a solo cycle from Donegal town to Wexford town in 24 hours on Monday, 30th July 2018 . A distance of 380 km.  {{UPDATE Unfortunately, due to an injury by one of my crew members I will be postponing the cycle until Monday, August 20th. Thank you everyone so far for all the donations. We appreciate all the support everyone has given so far.}}

The distance is not the only reason I chose Donegal as my start destination, it holds a special place in my heart. It was our favourite place to go on holiday and I have many happy memories of us together there.

Any donation, big or small is greatly appreciated.
