<div>Onze film draait om Marit, een Surinaamse Javaanse vrouw met een stille, krachtige missie: het heropenen van het historische Lawa-spoor om Suriname weer met zichzelf te verbinden. Deze film is niet alleen een ode aan het Javaans-Surinaamse erfgoed, maar ook een krachtig verhaal over visie, verbondenheid en culturele trots.

<div>In 2023 werd ons scenario geselecteerd door het Filmfonds (HFM traject) als "upcoming script" , een geweldige erkenning die ons motiveerde om verder te bouwen.

<div>We hebben inmiddels in Suriname audities gehouden en vier fantastische hoofdrolspelers gekozen, waaronder namen zoals Esther Poredjo en Shanifa Wirokarto. Nu willen we een belangrijke volgende stap zetten: het produceren van een korte teaserfilm. Deze short speelt zich af op de bruisende centrale markt in Paramaribo, waar je kennismaakt met de personages en onderdompelt in de rijke Surinaamse cultuur.

<div>De visuele climax? De transformatie van Marit in een "Nine Tailed Fox", gehuld in sierlijke batikstoffen , een beeld van mystiek en vrouwelijke kracht die je niet snel zult vergeten.
