The purpose of this GoFundMe is to raise money to purchase dri-fit shirts to be worn at the tournament in Donnie's honor, entitled 'Lax For Donnie' on April 19th.

Any and all additional funds will go towards purchasing supplies to frame a jersey to give to Donnie's family and to a scholarship in Donnie's name.

Donnie's Story:

October 27th 2007, the Saturday during Rowan University’s Homecoming Week. A week where students and alumni come together and celebrate their present and future success. A time where days and nights are filled with events and social gatherings.

But this Saturday night turned into something that the Rowan community will unfortunately never forget. This Saturday night, at around 9pm, Donald “Donnie” Farrell was walking to a convenience store with a group of his friends. This convenience store is located right outside Rowan University’s campus, a part that is well lit and at the time seemed very safe.

Unfortunately, at the very same time, a group of men tried to rob the very convenience store Donnie and his friends were heading to. The robbers encountered Donnie on their way out of the store. Instead of letting him and his friends past, they brutally beat him on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead the next day at the local hospital. He died of blunt force trauma to the right side of his neck.

Who were the group of men that killed Donnie? They were never found, and after seven years of searching, they still haven’t been found.

More importantly, who was Donald “Donnie” Farrell?

Donnie was a 19-year-old Rowan University sophomore. He grew up and lived in Boonton, NJ and played lacrosse for the Mountain Lakes Lakers.

He was also a founder of the Rowan University Men’s Club Lacrosse Team.

Our team heard about this murder and was disgusted at not only the fact that it happened, but at the fact that there is no place on campus to remember him. Our lacrosse team is a family. A family of which all players, both past, present and future, demand the same respect.

To show our respect to Donnie, and his family, we decided that we needed to give back, that we needed to create a place where Donnie will live on forever.

With your help, and your support, Donald “Donnie” Farrell will live on forever.
