DONATIONS FOR STRAY ANIMALS

Hey everyone,
I am a 28 year old Polish female whose owned dogs since I was 14 years old. I recently went on a trip to Varadero, Cuba & the way the community acts towards stray animals is disgusting. I would like to save up money to purchase medicine & supplies for the stray animals! Thank you!
This is what inspired me to make a gofundme account:
Now that I am back from Cuba I need to rant. I have been on many all inclusive vacations & encountered tons of stray dogs. On my recent Cuba trip I met a dog who I named Chico & he had what seemed to be a broken leg. It was huge, swollen, purple & infected. He could not walk on it. From what I know he was not like that before I got to the resort. Ally found him early on in our trip & his leg was covered in blood, which she cleaned off for him with alcohol. As soon as I first laid eyes on this dog my heart broke & I cried for him in the hotel lobby. Right away I started asking the Barcelo Solymar hotel staff for any possible information about a vet I can take him
to. Everyone I spoke to was absolutely clueless & either said they don't have vets in varadero or that if there is one they will not do anything for the dog & they have no supplies. I was confused as fuck. I went to see a young guy named Brian at the front desk to inquire more & ask for his help in locating someone who can help the dog. I asked for an animal hospital name number location anything. He says "for who? You?" With a big grin on his face. I reply "do I look like a dog? I need a vet for the dog in the lobby his leg is broken!" He says "wait you are trying to help the stray dog in the lobby??" And tells 2 nearby girls & they all burst out laughing at me. I was shocked as fuck & sarcastically said "yes it's sooooooo funny how there's a dog in pain it's actually hilarious" & I went back to the dog. Again, it was my first time ever encountering an injured animal while I am on vacation. The friends I was with & I walked to the clinic/hospital a couple of blocks away. Funny thing is Chico saw us leave the hotel & walked with us the whole way! Thank goodness there was a Spanish speaking friend named Jon amongst us. We asked the hospital staff for help. They looked at us like we had 5 heads. I offered to pay them to do xrays on Chico so I can determine 100% if the leg was broken or not. They told us they can't Xray the dog. Money does NOT talk in Cuba apparently. A nice physician came out and touched his leg & agreed it was broken. We kept asking him & the other staff what we can do. Same reply. "No vet in varadero & they have no supplies to help animals." This was literally torture & I have never felt so helpless. Next day I see Chico & his leg is even more swollen & purple & very infected. Jon & I mission out & hit up 3 clinics/pharmacies trying to gather up Hydrogen Peroxide, Polysporin, betadine, bandages & tape. If we could not fix the break I at least wanted to get his leg sterilized & disinfected asap. Went back to hotel where I found Chico at the pool bar beside a very nice couple who I found out have done a dog rescue mission in Mexico. Literally perfect timing. The couple helped restrain Chico as I disinfected his leg & wrapped his leg up so the Polysporin etc could soak in. I had a crowd watching me & looking at me like I was crazy. I had the pool bar floor covered in brown liquid (betadine) & only one guy moved my purse while I'm helping the dog so it wouldn't stain it. My trip definitely took a different turn as my focus went solely to taking care of & feeding this poor dog. I am thankful for sandee, John, & ally that I went on this trip with as they were super understanding, helpful & supportive & didn't make me feel a type of way for not partying etc. On my second last day I spent hours sitting in front of the washroom with Chico & had a Canadian guy my age come up to me & ask me what my end goal was. I replied "I don't get what you're trying to ask me". He then says "why are you trying to prevent the inevitable? .. Death." I tell him to get the hell away from me. What a heartless scum bag! On my last night I call the 404 emergency vet clinic in Newmarket, Ontario & quickly explain to the receptionist the situation & that I need the name of an antibiotic that I can say to the pharmacist as it's difficult with the language barrier. I wish I had the convo recorded. I can't believe this insensitive person works at an animal hospital. Long story short she told me its above her pay rate to google an anti biotic name for me!! I asked her name (Anna) & told her I will be paying her a visit when I return. Sandee & I went back to the hospital & I asked to purchase antibiotics & antiflammatory medication. The pharmacist says I can't get it without a prescription from the doctor & its $30 to speak to the doctor. She brings me in the room & I say I have someone back at the hotel who needs the meds & she says she needs to physically see them. I tell her it's for a dog & you should have seen her face. Bitch is flabber gasted & has to repeat what I say.. "Wait.. You are trying to get pills for a Cuban dog????" She proceeds to tell her co worker & they sit there literally laughing their asses off for a good couple of minutes. At this point I am not even mad anymore as I have witnessed so many garbage human beings that all I can do is say "ok yes it's really really funny I kno I knooo now when you're done laughing can you please please PLEASE give me the medication I am willing to give you money to get it." I have never been laughed at so much over trying to protect a helpless being. She ends up not charging me the consultation price & sells me the meds. I go back & give them to Chico. When I left Cuba I found the nice couple & gave them all the meds & supplies I have so they can take care of him for the rest of the week & I am so thankful they are ok with taking over.
