Medical Funds for Skyler

To inform those who do not yet know her story, Skyler is 20 years old and is currently 30 weeks pregnant. She was shot in the head on 9/4. Skyler was flown out and they were unable to retrieve the bullet during surgery which was lodged deep in her left frontal lobe which controls the right side of her body and her speech. They had to remove a large part of her skull to allow room for swelling but her and the baby are now both stable. She has only opened her eyes for a short time but she was able to recognize my mother by squeezing her hand. She was able to move her left arm, give a thumbs up to hearing, move BOTH of her legs and all of her toes (praise god) but there is has been no speech yet and no movement in her right arm. They did an ultrasound of her baby girl and she is doing great so they will leave her in the womb unless her or Skyler are to go into distress. There is an incredibly long road ahead and we are not in the clear yet until we begin to see how her brain takes on the trauma and starts to heal. So far she has been an absolute miracle case and the doctors are wowed by her progress in such a short time. She is the strongest person I know!! We are absolutely overwhelmed with the support we have received so far and the donations that we have received for my mother and Skyler. Also, we are currently looking to receive baby items as she will be bringing home a newborn in 10 weeks or less. Guys ANYTHING helps, whether it’s just a prayer, an item, a share or money. I just want to make things as easy as possible for my mother and for Skyler and for them to only focus on getting better and to not have any other worries. Thanks again so much from our whole family!
