Donations for Pam McGuffin

Many, many people have been affected by Hurricane Harvey. Our mother is one of hundreds—in her apartment complex alone—who have a ground floor apartment that was flooded with over a foot of water. For everyone, this means picking up the pieces and beginning the reparation process. Though this is emotionally painful and financially difficult for all, we would like to extend an invitation to help our mom, Pam McGuffin, during this difficult time.

Our mom, who selflessly took time away from her career while her kids were growing up, is an incredibly kindhearted and giving woman. She chose to go back to school in 2009, graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in HR Management this year, and was still looking for a job when the hurricane hit. This means that small, easy expenses to some (like the new clothes and shoes to replace those that were destroyed($150)) are extremely difficult for her because of how tight her money already was. As of right now, she knows she’ll need to replace her bedding($200), loveseat($250), table and chairs. In addition, her apartment is not livable, as it was flooded with gasoline/sewage/chemical water, so we would also like her to stay at a hotel within walking distance(>$100/night for potentially a week, we're not sure) while she cleans and repairs her apartment. Our mom, like many other Houstonians, did not expect the hurricane to hit the city as hard as it did, and didn’t plan for such a natural disaster, so reparations weren’t in the budget. Unfortunately, she does not have flood insurance. We, her kids, cannot do this alone, and would appreciate anything, including prayers. When personally asked if she would be okay with a donation page for her, she said that it would truly mean the world if people donated.
