Jamahl Payne was a longtime Aloha Camp chef and was active in the daily community of camp outside of the kitchen. He and a lot of his family live in Dickinson, TX which is on the Galviston Bay side of Houston. As his Facebook post said Monday morning, "Lost everything to (Hurricane) Harvey, but family and friends are accounted for" - Jamahl is in the middle of the flooding and unable to evacuate. And it's still raining. (The video is part of his family in the process of getting evacuted on Sunday.)
I've been in contact with Jamahl Payne and he has agreed for us to do a fund raising campaign on his behalf. Most importantly as he shared people are safe, but the material loss will be an enormous hurdle to get over.
Let's all kick in some $ to help him start the long process of rebuilding his life. Whatever you can give is great. And please share this far and wide, so we can include the entire Aloha Family in this effort. These donations will be for direct use by Jamahl to begin to get up and running again after the storm.
