Donations for Gunnar

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kristal Renee Owens
On March 19, 2018 I was heading home from work, I was about a minute from home when
I showed up 1 second after a nearly head on collision. The young man in the accident had said he was 21 years old, his groceries that he just bought scattered all over the ground at the scene of the accident, he kept asking “what happened, please help me get out”

I’m so thankful that it wasn’t me, because it very well could have been. I’m asking for donations for him as he will be out of work for a while and will need help with groceries and other living expenses and necessities, so far he is suffering from some spinal injuries currently and has had to be transferred to a non local hospital for those injuries.

Just an update for everyone who has donated so far, and to everyone who is continuing to donate and share Gunnar’s campaign...

Again I want to thank everyone who has kept the gofundme going by sharing, I have updated the amount that we originally set to raise, due to the circumstances that Gunnar is dealing with, and will continue to deal with for a long time. Gunnar is a victim of a drunk driving accident, but luckily he is the one who came out alive in this situation, unfortunately the driver who is at fault and passed away did not have car insurance, so Gunnar will be struggling financially not just with the standard bills that will go unpaid, and groceries, but medical bills now as well. Below is a statement from his mom. All of the information I have received has come directly from her.

“He does know about the gofundme campaign and he thanks you and all who has donated and continued to share the gofundme link. He is a great kid. Hard working, country boy. Loves to hunt and fish. Unfortunately, the other driver didn’t have insurance.

I wanted to give you an update. Gunnar has been moved out of ICU which is so positive. He’s having some set backs but is doing so much better. His second surgery on Thursday was difficult, a 9 hour surgery and was very scary but successful at the same time. They removed the broken fragments and installed a cage. His L1 through L5 are fractured and his L3 burst. We still don’t know how long he will be here. I asked one of the spinal Docs and he said it’s still too early to tell. Gunnar is a fighter and he will get through this!”

Thank you all again, for any support!
