Donation to the VRA in memory of Michael Cook

Tax deductible
Please consider making a donation in the memory of Michael Cook to the Vietnamese Resettlement Association (VRA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization co-founded by Michael Cook and his wife, Kim Oanh Cook MSW LICSW, and other area community leaders in 1989. The VRA is a nonprofit organization located in Falls Church, Northern Virginia. The VRA assists ethnically diverse low income refugees and other residents with limited English to adapt and improve their health and welfare.

For over 30 years, the focus of the VRA has been to provide refugees and immigrants in the DC metropolitan area with jobs, health care, housing, counseling and other needed immigration and social services as they and their families begin their lives in the United States. Because of the high rates of cancer among Vietnamese immigrants, much of the VRA's programming has also been dedicated to overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers and discrimination to provide quality cancer screening and treatment services for low-income, limited English-speaking, uninsured newcomers.

The VRA staff is fluent in six languages and together has many decades of experience assisting low income clients. We also are fortunate to have exceptionally strong volunteer support.
