We have a much-needed female patient from Muzafarabad, Pakistan who had been suffering from abdominal pain for two months, which recently worsened into severe pain. She had a backache initially for which painkillers were prescribed which had no effect on the pain but has worsened the stomach having a severe pain in the epigastrium. Meanwhile, severe pain started in the lower abdomen with on and off fever and PV discharge which was not relieved by the medication. She was immediately shifted to ISLAMABAD for further evaluation. All the labs and investigations are attached for reference.

She was then admitted to KRL hospital, Islamabad. During treatment, the patient went into shock with the suspicion myocardial infarction for which she had to go through emergency angioplasty which came out negative. Meanwhile, CT scan report revealed that she had developed a massive abscess leading to peritonitis and pneumoperitoneum — a serious infection of the abdomen. The surgical and anesthetic teams refused to operate in KRL hospital and had to undergo an emergency exploratory laparotomy at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad. Surgeons removed approximately 3 liters of abscess, with the source identified as the female reproductive system. Then she has been admitted to surgical ICU under ventilator support due to anxiety and panic attacks thinking of all the treatment cost.

The patient is from a non-affording background. She has three young children aging 18, 15 and 9. Her husband earns only a minimal income hardly 200-300£ monthly which is only enough to cover basic household needs.

We have therefore initiated a fundraising campaign to support her hospital stay and ongoing treatment. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in saving her life and supporting her family in this critical time.
