Donation for Deegan

Sadly, Debbie Dovic passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday 29 December after suffering an aneurysm. Our hearts are broken as she leaves behind her 10-year-old son Deegan. At a most tragic time, Debbie's mum and dad made an incredibly generous and selfless decision to donate Debbie’s organs, a wish that Debbie had previously made known to her mum. We are comforted to know that Debbie’s generosity has saved a few lives.

Debbie was a wonderful mother. She was a passionate and devoted mother to Deegan. At this difficult time, the family have asked that in-lieu of flowers at Debbie’s funeral on Tuesday 5 January, family and friends may wish to consider a donation for Deegan towards his education, learning and life without a mother.

I am Anna Bovdis and my parents christened Debbie. I became known as her ‘god-sister’. I am also the godmother to Deegan. Debbie’s parents are faced with the devastating loss of their daughter and the care of Debbie’s son, Deegan. Branka and Andy Dovic, Debbie’s parents, will care for Deegan. The recipients of the ‘Donation for Deegan’ fundraiser are Branka and Andy, Deegans grandparents. The donations will provide Deegan with the necessary education support, and his overall care. The future education of Deegan is a key feature of this fundraiser. We anticipate the funds will directly support Deegan’s school fees, uniform and schoolbooks however, they will also contribute to his wellbeing as he navigates life. Debbie’s parents have authorised me to withdraw the funds on their behalf at this heartbreaking time and to deliver the money to them.
