Meet Adrian Godinez
.  Adrian is one of the promising young prospects we have at Buckhead Fight Club in our Junior Olympic training program.  He had his first fight about two weeks ago, and can't wait to get back into the ring!  He is a talented athlete, very disciplined, and well... he's just adorable.  And now, he's family.

Adrian has an uncle who trains with us at the Fight Club as well, he's our own come-forward-and-brawl Alejandro Godinez, also a very talented athlete.  Alejandro played college football and always wanted to box, and fortunately we were the ones who got to have him.  From the very first day, Alejandro merged right into the core and became one of our own.  Their family seems to be laden with athletic talent and ability.

Adrian and his dad make the long trek from College Park to Brookhaven three to four times a week to get his training in.  You could ask, "why travel so far (in Atlanta traffic no less) just to go to a gym?"  Well anyone who has been there, knows that Buckhead Fight Club is no ordinary gym.

If you look a little closer into Adrian's story
you can see that finding a place to have family is very important to Adrian's dad.  You see, Adrian lost his mom and his sister in May of last year in a bad accident.  Their family was devastated.  And they have a GIANT, loving family. Adrian's father, who works in law enforcement, brought Adrian in to fill some of the gaps even though nothing can replace your mom.

When you raise children with a loss like that, you often spend your whole life trying to make things seem normal.  Adrian and their family are doing ok, but you can imagine the needs he would have as a young boy in finding the nurturing and friendship that could only have come from his mom.  What an honor it is to know that the new family he has at Buckhead Fight Club can fill even the tiniest place for his loss.  At the gym Adrian has brothers, sisters, quite a few mothers and lots of friends and fans.  He's a little fighter running around the gym hitting bags, and wearing his cup and headgear, and being the biggest little man in there.  As you can see he means a lot to all of us at the Fight Club.

Amazing stories are pretty common at Buckhead Fight Club.  These stories are what drive us to keep the Fight Club moving and active in the community.

What is our community?
Buckhead Fight Club is like an old school community center.  Buried in the heart of Atlanta's most diverse neighborhood, BFC hosts a population that's about 75% Latino, 15% African American and mixed cultures, and 10% white folks (that's me!).  Many immigrant families and American-born Latino kids come through our doors and call us home.  We have whole families training at the gym who take part in every event we host.  We have street kids who come in and find a place of honor and respect in the gym and in the ring.  We have prize fighters and rope jumpers, white collar boxers and blue collar guys, some of whom we can't figure out WHAT they're doing, but they're there!  Its a place to go and be whomever you want to be; to exercise, to learn new skills, and to push yourself to be better than you were when you got there.  For some it's about living the American dream..  and then for some Buckhead Fight Club is a place of refuge, a place for support, and a place for understanding and acceptance.  It a place of healing for some and determination for others.  Truely, Buckhead Fight Club is no ordinary gym.

So what's the problem?

Well quite frankly we can't make the ends meet.  We've been opened almost five years, and while we have managed to keep moving forward and to grow, we are now at a standstill and we need your help.  Our overhead has increased 35% over the past two years and our growth has not matched the increase.  We have exhausted our resources and are turning to the community that we have loved and supported these past few years for help.

Here's what we need:
We have been ordered to come up with funds over the next 30 days in order to keep the Fight Club operating.  Below are the deadlines set forth by our leasing company.

We need $4000 by 3PM Friday November 9, 2017 (that's tomorrow!)

We need an additional $13,287.92 by November 30

We need the last $4000 by December 10, 2017

We need $3680 to renew our insurance policy

Total funds needed: $24,968

Without doubt, it's a lot of money, but it's such a worthy cause, and it's obtainable if we come together.

What can you do?
Please donate, and please share!  We will take any contribution no matter how small.  Also please pray!  We need all of the prayer we can get to move things in a big way.

Thank you SO much for viewing our campaign and for your donations and thoughts.  If only 800 people donated $5 we could meet our Friday November 9th goal!  We can do this!
