Donate! Won’t Forget Your kindness

Hello! We are Alexis, Aly, Anna, Devyn, Frankie, Grace, Hailey, Karli, Kate, Paris, Piper, Reece, and Riley. The Elite and Junior Company members of DC Dance AZ.  We are fundraising  and dancing for a cause that has become near and dear to us- The Autism Society of Greater Phoenix and we very much could use your support to bring more awareness and financial assistance to this terrific nonprofit organization.

Let us explain more! On March 4th we will be performing several numbers based on ‘The Poor Lion’s Reward’ at our Folktales Festival. This is 100% a fundraising event to benefit The Austism Society of Greater Phoenix,  a fully non- profit charity, whose mission since 1973, is to provide information and resources to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by Autism. They serve over 4000 families in Greater Phoenix and Flagstaff by providing outreach, parent mentoring, advocacy, assistance with medical, education and insurance issues,  research programs, social and special events, monthly support meetings, workshops, grants, scholarships and much more. So as you can see they are such a vital resource to individuals and families affected by Autism.

Each of us dancers have devoted countless hours of practice and rehearsals leading up to this event because we have seen close up just how having a child with Autism can be overwhelming in numerous ways both big and small. Our amazing, devoted and super talented artistic director has a ten year old son who has Autism on the severe side of the spectrum.

So while we may struggle for a minute or two with a difficult dance combination pattern, this young boy and his family struggled for years to even have him learn to walk.

While we look forward to making fun plans after our practices to go to a movie or out for dinner, our artistic director and her family stay home as it isn't the easiest to go out with a child who has frequent outbursts. And we think we get stares at school....one can only imagine how they feel.

While we grumble about having to write another  English report, we humble ourselves to realize how happy they would be to have him write just one sentence.

While we worry about our intagrams likes and snapchat streaks, they worry about insurance issues, medical bills,  researching the best program or treatment course to follow. No popularity contest or likes in that.

What is even more amazing, is our Artistic Director comes to all of our practices, with 100% focus on us and our needs. It's truly inspiring and most humbling.
We have grown to love and care about her child and family greatly and all the countless other families as well.

We graciously ask that you Please donate  what you can- any amount is most appreciated!! Your donation is 100% tax deductible.

Also if you are in the Phoenix area and would like to attend our DC Dance AZ Folktales Festival to benefit The Autism Society of Greater Phoenix on March 4th at 5pm at Chandler Center for the Arts, please feel free to reach out to one of us for ticket info.

Please note our fundraising deadline for this event is March 3rd.

In the words of the Poor Lion, “We won’t forget your kindness!”
