<div>1.-I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for your support in helping my son, who has been battling a chronic and severe mental illness for the last fifteen (15) years; and at this point he has developed dopamine supersensitivity psychosis or "treatment-resistant," a type of neuroinflammation, and possible an autoimmune encephalitis. We currently need more than $35,000 to get the medical assistance that he urgently needs.

<div>2.-According to a study published in Psychiatry Research, researches from Chiba University in Japan found that there are over 70% of that kind of patients who are "treatment-resistant" and my son is one on those who has apparently developed dopamine supersensitivity psychosis from long-term use of antipsychotic and antidepressant medications.

<div>3.-During all these years my son has gone from being a highly productive student at a very prestigious university to being self-isolated, depressed and all but non-functioning young man. This condition has severely impacted his life for the last fifteen years, and the journey toward stability has been incredibly challenging for both him and us, his family.

Public mental health services are limited and often stretched thin, adding more emotional distress and frustration because it frequently dismisses insights and needs of the suffering person.

Currently, he is in a facility stabilizing his severe crisis, but we cannot afford it any longer, and we desperately need him to continue receiving care. Despite the odds, I am eager to continue the fight against this devastated disorder that affects his life.
