Tiffany has been on a long journey of recovering from a life-threatening throat condition that rendered her unable to work for almost a year. She has begun working part-time as her energy allows and is ready to be independent again but needs our help to secure an apartment and care for herself in the wake of one final surgery.
A year ago, Tiffany found out her life was in danger without a series of throat surgeries that would involve a long recovery process and a level of disability that would not allow her to work or care for her basic needs independently. She sold nearly everything she owned, moved in with a family member in Kentucky who had agreed to care for her long-term, and had the big surgery at a nearby hospital in Tennessee that specialized in her condition.
At the height of her recovery, Tiffany had to move again when this family member began to have personal struggles that resulted in her making threats to Tiffany’s physical safety. Relying on new friends in Kentucky, Tiffany moved around to various spare rooms while maintaining daily in-home nursing and smaller follow-up medical procedures.
Her recent return to work has allowed her to fund a long-term hotel stay that is very expensive and takes up most of her income. Her upcoming and hopefully last surgery will be to do plastic surgery on her neck and do some final clean-up work. If all goes as planned, she will have a few weeks' recovery period and may not be able to move her head much and therefore unable to drive or work. She has found a very affordable apartment and can move in on January 1st! Having a stable home where she can live and work will be a game changer in her continued recovery.
I am hoping to raise $5000 to make Tiffany’s move easeful and offer her a buffer to provide for bills and meal delivery while she’s recovering.
