Sherry Baldwin and I are starting a fundraiser for a feral cat colony that is located in Horry County, adjacent to a Domestic Violence Victims Shelter. The shelter operates on a shoestring and does not have any money to feed these precious souls, much less get them any veterinary care. We are hoping to raise enough money to feed them, spay and neuter them, and get some basic veterinary care.

There's a kitten out at the colony with a broken back. If we find her, we'll help. One of the kittens has a respiratory issue and has been to the vet to be treated. She was so tiny but is now on the mend, and we have been able to hold her. She was so weak from the respiratory problem that I scooped her up by hand. Spay and vaccine appointments start December 4th. We are preparing a GoFundMe for anyone interested in helping. The TNR groups and shelters are full. TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) is our only option to help the helpless.

Cat colonies range from 3 cats to 15 on average. We're guessing there's about 20 in this one. The goal is to have fewer kittens and healthier cats. We will not be announcing the address of this colony as we do not want dumping. However, with the GoFundMe, we will be keeping complete transparency and reporting.

There are some beautiful cats and kittens there who are very friendly. If anyone is interested in adopting, please let us know.

It is taking around three days to trap the cats. The day after trapping they are transported to the vet for health care and sterilization. Once they are done Sherry transports them back to her garage and is keeping them there until they are able to be released. There are some beautiful cats and kittens here. If anyone would like a new friend we would love to have you adopt a kitty. We have a lovely bonded pair of cats, an orange male and a grey female who are very friendly and sweet.

Donations are needed more than ever. Our sweet kitty that has the respiratory issue is having surgery tomorrow so she can breathe normally. She has a diaphragmatic hernia and her surgery is going to cost somewhere between $2,915 and $2,965.
