<div>My name is Pamela Ofori Boateng, a graduate student and a teaching assistant in the United States. I'm helping to raise funds for my friend, Philip Atawura, who is a young lecturer in Ghana and has been diagnosed with an end stage Polycystic Kidney Disease (PCKD) at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra. Philip has been scheduled for a kidney transplant in June 2023. I decided to support this campaign due to Philip’s impact and contributions to the lives of underprivileged students at the Ghana institute of Journalism. He has been a cornerstone for such students, but his ailing health has come in the way, making it extremely difficult for him to pursue his daily activities and attend to his students. The funds that will be raised will go a long way to restore his life and bring hope to the many students that depend on him.

<div>Philip was diagnosed with the end stage PCKD in August 2021 and has since been on dialysis at Providence Specialist Hospital, Achimota (a suburb of Accra), after his discharge in September 2021.
</div>
<div>Luckily, in March 2023, Philip got a donor. Therefore, upon meeting all necessary requirements, Philip is due for kidney transplant at the Max Healthcare in India. The operation is scheduled to take place in the first week of July 2023. The estimated cost is 64,000 United States Dollars (USD). This includes all travelling particulars, accommodation, pre-operational tests, the cost of the operation, post operation tests, drugs and two shots of antirejection injections.

<div>I fervently hope Philip will be given all the necessary help to enable him do away with the costly dialysis sessions and to live a normal life again.
</div>

<div>All funds will be directed to his healthcare costs.

<div>Please help to give Philip another chance to live.
