Donate to Polly's Extra Hepatic Shunt Surgery

Fellow animal lover,

We're asking for donations to save our beloved Polly's life. We recently found out that our beautiful, playful four year old shih tzu, Polly, has an extra hepatic shunt, which is an extra blood vessel around her liver.  This causes the liver to basically become a "stone making machine," as our vet put it,  and is retaining very harmful toxins in her body.  Because of this, her bladder is now very full of stones and she is very sick. The vet says her bladder is at serious risk of bursting. 

Without surgery, she will not make it. The good news is, survival and recovery rate from this surgery is very good! With this surgery, she can go on to live a full, healthy life with our family.

Polly is the light of our lives. She's a playful ray of sunshine in a hectic world, and we are, frankly, desperate for her to be okay.  We are hopeful for many years ahead for her, playing with her favorite ball, cuddling with her stuffed "baby bear" on the couch with us, and gracing us with her beautiful soul.
