<div>Hello everyone, my name is LaToya, aka Lady Lazarus Jones, and <strong>I am a stage 4 breast cancer survivor training for the 2028 Olympics 5k and 10k!</strong> I aim to be the first American woman to win gold in one or both of these events.

<div>Last year, I was told that I wasn't going to make it... but here I am... training for the Olympics! Hence, the name Lady Lazarus, given to me by a TikToker.

<div>Yup, that was me in March of 2024, getting ready to have a tube placed in my chest due to a collapsed lung! A very scary time indeed, but as I lay in the hospital bed, I said, "God, if I get a second chance, I will not waste it! I will do things without fear and with love." But it wasn't until an old friend called me one day in May of 2025 and asked me a very important question that I truly found my purpose, "If today was your last day on earth, what would you do? Don't answer me yet, just think about it." So, to think about it, I went for a walk. I thought, 'I would love to run in a 5k and 10k.' and then something whispered, 'Why not the Olympics?' I chuckled at the idea because I was still rebuilding my body. But then I started researching. What WOULD it take for me to get into the Olympics? I told my oldest son, "I have this silly idea of running in the Olympics." To which he replied, "I don't believe that's silly at all! Single mother who struggled with cancer turned Olympian. Mom, think of how many people you would inspire!" Right then and there, I knew that was my purpose!
