My name is Jayme Richards I am the wife of Kevin McGahan. So I write to you Kevin's journey.

Kevin was admitted to ICU on September 20th 2025 with Influenza A, and pneumonia things quickly took a turn that no one expected. He became very critically ill very fast. He was then diagnosed with MRSA, and aspergillus(fungus) in his lungs. Kevin spent the next 17 days intubated, 3 chest tubes were placed in his left lung due to the lung completely collapsing, this was followed by a tracheostomy. In total he spent 62 days in ICU. He went into cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest 3 times nearly dying. We emergently transferred Kevin to a hospital that had the resources available to help Kevin live. After being transferred to a reliable hospital he rapidly had 5 lung surgeries and 1 stomach surgery.

This facility saved Kevin's life( we are forever grateful)!

Kevin has spent 62 + days confined to a hospital bed. He has lost 45 lbs and about 70% muscle mass.

Kevin is a fighter and because of his fighting ability and all the prayers and good vibes sent his way..

KEVIN CAME HOME 11/21/25

Kevin still has a chest tube in his left lung and a feeding tube in his stomach. He is walker dependent at this time. Kevin has a long road of recovery ahead but he is determined to regain his life back.
